Words From the
Chief
Dear Village
Residents,
The officers and members of the North Hornell Fire Department would
like to thank everyone for their very generous donations at our
spring booster drive and our September boot drive. Your donations
have allowed us to finish equipping the ladder truck and to purchase
and start equipping our rescue truck. A little update on our
membership, we now have 31 active firefighters with several
applications pending. We continue to accept new applications. Our
auxiliary is up and running and doing very well. They currently have
11 members. New members are welcome. A little more on the serious
side: Carbon Monoxide is a silent killer - a colorless, odorless gas
that is a byproduct of combustion. It is generated by oil furnaces,
barbecues and automobiles. A carbon monoxide leak in your home or
business can be fatal. To prevent the possibility of being over come
by this very deadly gas, remember to have carbon monoxide detectors
installed in your home and business. Remember also to prevent the
possibility of a chimney fire or furnace fire from occurring, have
your chimney or furnace checked each year before it is used.
Again, thank you for your support in our booster and boot drive this
past year. Without your continued support and generosity many things
we do would not be possible.
Sincerely,
Mike Robbins-Fire Chief
