REGULAR MEETING OF THE NORTH HORNELL VILLAGE BOARD JUNE 14, 2010 - 7PM
ATTENDANCE:
Mayor John Falci Mayor Falci opened the meeting at 7PM with the pledge of allegiance. MAYORS OPENING REMARKS Mayor Falci commented on peddlers doing work in the village. Recently there was a problem with a peddler going door to door without a permit. Resulting in work being contracted out with possible problems. The Mayor stressed the importance of all contractors working in the Village must have permits. Also peddlers must have licenses. Residents should ask for credentials and call the Village hall for verification.All residents received the letter that Lippincott’s rubbish bill will be going up $6.00 to $81. MINUTES A motion was made by Trustee Thomas and seconded by Trustee Peter DiRaimondo to approve the May 10th and May 25th minutes with the note to have the date put on the May 25th minutes. received a check from the insurance company McNeil, in the amount of
$2762.40. The $5500 that was transferred into the Capital reserve was to be put towards the cost of the ropes The following items where agreed upon and approved by the board at the May 25th meeting for Colden to provide. Total amount approved $6847.51 Tires $1298.43 Motion was made to approve the fire report by Trustee Libordi, seconded by Mayor Falci and carried. Mayor
Falci Yes Motion was made by Trustee Thomas to approve the Fire department going to the Parade on the 4th in Hornell, the July 10th parade in Arkport, helping with Rock and Roar traffic control on July 17th. Motion was seconded Trustee DiRaimondo and carried. Mayor

Falci Yes OLD BUSINESS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN Planning board has met to start working on the Village comprehensive plan. The board is looking at a comprehensive plan that was done in the ‘70’s between the Town and the Villages of Arkport and North Hornell. There will be a representative from the county will speak at next months meeting regarding the plan. FIRE HALL UPDATE There will be a walk thru the new fire hall on Wednesday June 16th at 6PM. Any fireman or trustee is welcome to walk thru. Joe Rose (contractor) and Rex Simpson (architect) will be in attendance. NEW BUSINESS DON HOFFMAN Mr. Hoffman asked for an update regarding the water billing on his property on Wightman Ave. He is looking for a
legal description of a unit. The City has not responded as of yet. By
next month we should have the assessor’s definition of a unit. And the
lawyers should change papers by then. Mr. Hoffman noted that in his
conversation with Attorney Eric Shults, Mr. Shults had not received any
response from the City Attorney. He was going to write another letter to
move things along. Mr. Hoffman continues to pay his water bills. CONTRACTORS PERMIT CHANGES Our contract permits will now contain the following insert; have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. This will also be on the peddlers permit. Trustee Dick was concerned that we need to have a public hearing to add this to the permit. SANITATION SEWERS Village has a credit from Joe Johnson in the amount of $10,000. DPW Supervisor would like to use $3274.50 to pay for updated nozzles for the Sewer truck. It will clear out the gravel and sand out of the storm drains. It can clean off layers of debris off a 12” main. It would also control some of the odor from Crowley’s dairy. Motion made by Trustee DiRaimondo to purchase 2 nozzles and 3 skids in the amount of $3274.50 from the $10,000 credit. Motion was seconded by Trustee Thomas and carried. Mayor
Falci Yes STREET BANNERS DPW will try to put up as many banners on Seneca Rd. as possible before the 4th of July. PAPER SHREDDER The board would like to have the shredder truck back for the fall. PAY BILLS Motion made by Trustee Thomas to pay bills, seconded by Trustee Libordi and carried. Mayor
Falci Yes EXECUTIVE SESSION The board went into executive session at 8:20PM on a motion by Trustee Dick, seconded by Trustee Libordi and carried. Executive session is to discuss a personnel matter. Mayor
