ATTENTION Village of North Hornell Residents – Press Release June 24, 2024
Grant #1
In April of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department recently secured nearly $60K grant from the New York State Law Enforcement Technology Grant. This money will go towards paying off equipment lease contracts, upgrading outdated computers and radio equipment along with purchasing of new equipment to better secure and protect the officers and the residents within the community of North Hornell.

In February of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department received funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of almost $14K to support the purchasing and upgrading of radio equipment for the department and School Resource Officer.

Recently in June of 2024 the Village of North Hornell Police Department received funding for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of almost $55K to purchase a new fully outfitted marked patrol vehicle in the Village of North Hornell to replace the school resource officer vehicle that is almost 20 years old.
The Village of North Hornell and the North Hornell Police Department are thankful for these grant funds and will continue to search and execute grant opportunities to assist with taxpayer savings.

Reminder for ATV & UTV
The North Hornell Police Department and the Village of North Hornell would like to remind our residents that riding any sort of ATV or UTV on Village Streets is NOT permitted at any time.
Please be aware of the rules and regulations and permitted areas when riding an ATV or UTV.
PLEASE SHARE AND SPREAD THE WORD.
Mowing Etiquette
It is illegal to mow your grass towards the road or into your neighbor’s yard.
Spring/Summer Property Maintenance
Owners and occupants of land in the village are responsible to cut any and all noxious weeds, grass which is in excess of six (6) inches and/or other rank growth located on their property. Code 27-1. Failure to follow the said code can/will result in action taken by the village and could result in penalties to the property owner.
Brush Pick Up
The second and fourth Monday of each month. Please put debris (no grass) to curb line the weekend before pick up.
